I don't. Barring insanity on the part of the sb, he is bet/capping the flop for value with two people along for the ride. Anything he caps for value here can beat your 8 kicker.

Even if you are ahead, there is a good possibility of a tie by the river, which greaty diminish the 11-2 odds you are getting for a call-down.

new to shorthand
could he have been capping with a flush draw? and decided to lead out as a semibluff.

Would folding the flop to the BB raise make any sense?
also the button raise is that normal for a 5 handed table?

Is 3-betting the flop the way to go? Sure your reads help but both seem to like their hands so you may not be ahead (although this a steal spot so this could be posturing), and if you are ahead you are likely vulnerable to a number of turn cards (flush and overcards)? I would imagine there are folks against whom it may be right to fold against on this flop, but is 3-bet the way to go if not against them?

I think this is the correct line against not very thinking players. Anybody with the trips caps anybody w/o it calls. Thinking players can switch it up on you and call/cap with or without it. Soooo depends on your read.

Yeah, I felt like, and still feel like a 3bet is good here.
