Default $1/$2 JTs Hand

Party poker NL, MP raiser has just less than $100, I have about $200 and SB has us both covered.

Early limper, MP raises $6 and I call on the button with J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB calls and we lose the limper. ($22).

Flop comes 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. MP bets $15, I call and SB folds. ($52)

Turn is 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. He bets $35 and I call. ($122)

River is 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. We both check. ($122)

Tosh,

While you did have the position for JTs, with 1 limper, a raiser and NO callers in between, I dont play JTs to a raise.

I like a few more in the pot and a cheaper entry. Even just one or two more callers to you.

You now have the risk of a limp/re-raise from EP.

You also have the risk of exactly what happened on this hand happening.

That is flopping top pair/average kicker.

There are too many hands you are behind, like over pairs, top pair bigger kicker.

There is even the over cards that can hit.

Your decisions on this hand can be made a lot easier by folding preflop.

I flopped a very big draw, with no diamonds I doubt I go far in the hand.

I would raise this flop to ~$50-$60

Of course, the other side of the coin is you're much more likely to stack off a PF raiser... With SC I call a PF raise up to 4% of the larger of the 2 stacks.

Edit: I misread the stack-sizes. I might push the flop here though.

Tosh,

I was not commenting on the Post-Flop play. I was commenting on the preflop play.

A far as the post flop, I push on this flop.

You can make an instant $37 (not a bad pot) OR you have TONS of outs against him if he does have you beat.

you want more money to go in on the flop. you have a big hand, and the pot's got plenty of money in it after you call to make it worthwhile to take it down right there. plus it'd be nice to eliminate a bigger flush draw. i would raise to $70. put the $15 bettor to an obvious commitment decision.

also that way you cannot be blown off your hand by a big bluff on the turn if the turn blanks.
