Default Elements of Adjustment

I saw Barry Greenstein say on TV last night:
"You have to adjust to the table."
I'm a beginning player and to me adjustment means tighten/loosen up.
That can't be all there is to it. What are other elements of adjustment?
Thanks,
/M

You must make sure to adjust your 'junk'. Nobody likes their boxers to ride up while in a long session.
