Default Button vs Big Blind - do I do anything different

Party .5/1 - No real read on the Big Blind.

I get roughed up sometimes in a Button, SB and/or BB battle. Any thoughts suggestions on different play?

I think you played it right...it was unfortunate that he hit a strong hand that would be hard for you to predict unless you had a better read on how often this guy calls all the way to the river...I may have checked on the river if you were suspicious of his holding. I think the PF raise in this position is a good idea because a lot of players' idea of defending their blinds is calling the raise with any crummy hand and then folding to your bet on the flop.

Bummer hand.. You played it well though, you have to bet out top pair.. You raised PF, he wanted to see if you'd bet the streets for him, and you did.. This hand was played well by BB too, that's just the way it goes sometimes..

This looks fine. I think both you and BB played it well.

If you don't feel comfortable playing these situations then you may want to stick with raising just high cards in this situation. Middle suited connectors aren't that valuable short-handed, especially if your opponents are aggressive. But I would often raise 89s here so I'm not saying it was a mistake.

I'd check the river.

He has called you the whole way - so what's gonna make him fold? A missed straight draw? Missed flush draw? If that's the case - your bet doesn't really incrase the pot.

I'm very suspcisous of a board like this when I can't shake the guy on the flop and turn.
