Re: props is vegas cardrooms?
I asked about props and shoills when I was at the Mirage and Excalibur last month. As I understand it (although I am as far from and "expert" as possible), they have to tell you if you ask. Both rooms said they did not, although Excalibur had a sign up that said they might be.

Re: props is vegas cardrooms?
I think thats a NGC thing, I have heard many times that Mirage and Bellagio do not, but the other casinos may count their employees playing as such, and they never have a problem identifying their empoloyees(different from the Cali card rooms, where props are props and not dealers/floorpeople, at least I think).

Re: props is vegas cardrooms?
I just learned this past week that many online card rooms use props also. It makes scense, I just never thought about it before.

Re: props is vegas cardrooms?
I am currently a prop on some online poker rooms. At one time or other, I have propped at more than 12 online sites.

Re: props is vegas cardrooms?
Proposition Player is someone the casino pays to play poker. I am not an expert but I think the player earns an hourly wage for playing poker. It is my understanding they play with their own money. The purpose is to keep the games going.(I think)
One good thing about a public forum, if I am wrong someone will point it out. |

Re: props is vegas cardrooms?
From my understanding - you are correct. The Prop is compensated a fee (as long as there is a raked hand) to start new tables and keep them going until there are 5 (on some sites)or more players - at which time the prop starts another table. The prop I spoke with used to be a prop on Party, she claims thats how they grew to be such a monster.
Funny thing is I have heard many conspiracy theorys about bots starting tables to keep paying players around, now I understand that these rumors have a small amount of truth. On the bright side, it is good to know that some poker sites value us enough to make that kind of investment! In da club [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

What's the payscale look like? Also, can I restrict my proping to only those games/limits that I have sufficient bankroll for? |
