What is \"small\", \"medium\" & \"large\" ante?
I'm wondering if there's a "rule of thumb" when talking about small, medium and large ante.
For example, I play in a $1/$5 7HL8 game that requires a $5 ante when you deal ( 1 in 8 times ). So, you ante 62.5 cents per hand ( or 62.5% of the small bet and 12.5% of the big bet ). How about a $1/$2 7HL8 game with a 25 cent ante? ( 25% of small and 12.5% of big ). Are there "ranges" ( for example.. % small bet, < 33 = small, 34-66 = med, > 66 = high ) that can be used to figure out if you are in a small, medium or high ante game? Thanks! |

Re: What is \"small\", \"medium\" & \"large\" ante?
I don't think that there are any hard-and-fast rules. The games you cite have pretty high antes. As loose guidelines, I submit the following structures:
Low ante: $5/10 with a $.50 ante $10/20 with a $1 ante Medium ante: $15/30 with a $2 ante $30/60 with a $5 ante High ante: $2/4 with a $.50 ante $40/80 with a $10 ante $100/200 with a $25 ante Hope that helps. |
