Can anyone recommend a free and or open sourece C# IDE?
Just want to fool around with the language and do some little hobby projects. Is there anything out there like NetBeans for Java? |

Re: C# IDE
Huge help, Dan.
That was a big help, SharpDevelop looks very nice. Do you use it? I seem to have run into a wal straight away in that I see the WYSIWYG form editor, but there does not seem to be a palette for inserting widgets. I can change the properties of the parent window with no problem, but cannot find how to add a simple textbox or button. I am checking through the documentation (which did not seem to install) and the SharpDevelop online forum. |

Re: C# IDE
You might consider learning C#.NET from a book and simply compiling the code without the IDE. The .NET framework takes care of it for you-- there actually NO NEED for an IDE.
If you are a student, you can get VS.NET cheap, see your campus bookstore. Also EBAY. |
