Those Darn Overcards
Live 3-6. Game is loose but not as loose as usual.
I get A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] on the button. 4 limpers, I raise, all call. Flop: A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Checked to MP player (who I have no read on) who bets. Raised by LAG player to my immediate right. I figure MP has flush draw or an A and LAG has an ace or is just pretending to. I don't want to call two cold and I don't want to fold, so I re-reaise. EP player calls three cold and MP caps. All call. (We lost one of the limpers along the way). Turn: 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] All check to me, I check. River: A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] EP player now bets. MP raises. LAG folds. I fold. EP calls. MP shows A8 off for Aces full of eights. EP doesn't show. I think I played this ok, but it's bothered me all day today for some reason. Comments? Z |

Re: Those Darn Overcards
You played it fine. Nice read.
I do think you have to bet the turn if you have any hope that your hand is in the lead, because a free spade could doom you, but you seem to have correctly read that you were trailing and drawing to few outs, so checking is fine. |

Re: Those Darn Overcards
Good check on 4th. That table is screaming check-raise with everything its got. The flop capper doesn't bet out? hmmm
