I'm too scared to slowplay big hands

Hi. I got KK in the SB twice in the same SNG today. I played the hand the same both times: raise preflop and push on flop when there's no Ace. I get worried that if I check or make a smaller bet then I may not like the turn card. Obviously the pot's worth winning right there and then because I raised preflop. Surely I can win more chips if I play it differently, while minimising the risk? How would you have played these 2 hands?

Both hands are played fine imo.

You didn't have position in either hand, or the chips to make a pot-sized bet. I like how you played both hands, since you got good action preflop and it was more than likely coming from Ax-type hands. If you risk checking the flop out of position, you're more than likely going to see a showdown when you re-raise (increasing your chance to lose).

I make this same play whenever I get an overpair to the board or flop bottom 2 pair. Last night I got beat twice doing that, once against a set and then outdrawn by a runner runner straight, but it works often enough to be +EV.

I agree with the consensus on the first play, especially given there is a potential flush draw on the board but in the second example I would definitely consider checking the flop and then check-raising or betting the turn, whatever the case may be. The flop is definitely unscary and the only two possible hands you would worry about are AQ and QJ if an A or J falls on the turn. With still a decent stack, I would not hesitate to try to induce a bluff on the flop since MP3 may want to get heads up with MP1. I also love the fact that I'll show my hand after the check-raise since I'll showdown with MP1 which will tell the others at the table to respect my check-raises in the future.
