Default KQs BB def vs SB TAA

This is only my first orbit at the table, but I think I have maybe 30 hands on the guy from mining / previous sessions. His stats are something like 15/10/2.

PF: This raise isn't just for value vs. his range; I'm also trying to dissuade him from stealing against me in the future.

I like it. Odd c/r on the river. Make a note on him.

Grunching

I raise the flop, call three bet and reevaluate. Raising this flop could change a lot. And then probably call down. On a steal you could be *edit - i meant ahead* behind many things against a TAA. Any PP, any two broadway. Maybe one broadway. Depends on his read of you.

well, the river call is -EV for sure. i'd fold and find a new table.

i think the river bet in the first place is more interesting than what to do now that he's check raised. i'm not sure he's going to call with AK - your hand looks so much like KQ/AQ/JJ/TT/99 or possibly the [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] flush draw.

Preflop is fine.

I think you need to pop him on the flop or turn and play from there. The C/R is very peculiar. Maybe he had 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]'s?

At any rate, I call the flop, raise the turn and see what happens. You're allowing him to have free cards if he has any kind of a draw. And you have a good hand HU with TPGK.

Nice hand Dave. Calling the river check/raise is good for a number of reasons. I don't really want to explain all of the reasons why, but I will say that the least of which is that you will see AK/AJ/Ax here often enough to make it correct (if your read is right).

Brad

This isn't one of those "when was the last time you called a river check/raise and won" spots imho.

I think you are toast on the river. Anybody finds a fold here? Did he know that you will be if checked to? If yes, then this is a c/r to get more money from you and you can fold the river.

Are you calling down because you fear villian might have a better hand? I think you have to find a place to raise at some point along the way, probably the flop.

And that river c/r is really strange...pulled a sexy at .5/1?

I do check some hands that I would have been calling with on this river...

JJ for example.
