Default 3- handed straddle

I saw this message by Daniel N. on the pot limit forum, and my question is would a straddle on the button work in limit holdem?

"Assume three players are equally skilled, and have equal bankrolls on the table, playing pot-limit hold'em only three handed.

Player A straddles on the button everytime he gets it, while the others don't. How well with Player A do? Basically, do you think this will be to his advantage, or his disadvantage in the long run?

I think it'd be foolish in limit holdem. The reason it's a possibly advantageous strategy in Pot Limit (IF the stacks are deep enough) is that as natedogg said "You increase the stakes when you have the best position".

In limit holdem, you can't increase the stakes w/ a straddle the way you can in pl. In limit holdem, the benefit from acting last pre-flop is not worth 1 BB.
