$50NL How\'s the turn bet here? Do you check or bet the river?
I wasn't really sure what to do on the river here. I think my play before that was okay, but I'd like comments if anyone feels otherwise.
VILLAIN here was playing very loosely. Calling large pot-sized bets on draws, and making big bluffs on the river if he missed his draw. Two times I had seen him call huge bets to the river on a straight or flush draw and then throw out a big bluff when he missed the draw. Generally he was just fluctuating between LP and LA depending on who knows what (or elejack as I like to call it--a cross between an elephant and a jackal). Any and all thoughts are definitely appreciated: ** [Hold 'em] (0.25|0.50 No Limit - Cash Game) Real Money - seat 1 with $87.25 - HERO sitting in seat 2 with $47.95 [Dealer] - seat 3 with $34.10 - seat 4 with $49.00 - seat 5 with $43.75 - VILLAIN sitting in seat 6 with $120.94 xx posted the small blind - $0.25 xx posted the big blind - $0.50 ** Dealing card to HERO: Queen of Hearts, Queen of Clubs xx folded VILLAIN raised - $1.50 xx folded HERO raised - $3.00 SB folded BB folded VILLAIN called - $3.00 ** Dealing the flop: 10 of Spades, 10 of Clubs, 8 of Clubs Pot is ~ $6.50 VILLAIN checked HERO bet - $5.00 VILLAIN called - $5.00 ** Dealing the turn: 3 of Hearts Pot is ~$16.00 VILLAIN checked HERO bet - $10.00 VILLAIN called - $10.00 ** Dealing the river: 5 of Diamonds Pot is ~$36.00 VILLAIN checked Do you bet or check here? If you bet, how much? If you check, why? Thanks guys. One other thought. Should I have over-bet the flop? Say $10 or so. With the thinking that he would only call or raise if he had me beat? Given his loose play, I'm not sure... |

Re: $50NL How\'s the turn bet here? Do you check or bet the river?
don't minraise preflop. Raise it to around $5.50. Flop and turn play are fine. I'm checking behind on the river if I bet the turn, two value bets is enough for one pair.
[ QUOTE ] Should I have over-bet the flop? Say $10 or so [/ QUOTE ] No, overbetting without the nuts is a very bad idea (folding out your callers, stacked by the nuts, etc etc) |
