Default Haven\'t posted a hand in a while. 6max 22 flops set.

Hey all.

My first ever 6max hand. So I obviously just sat down so no real reads. I will say that villian turned out to be a donator on a massive scale. I called preflop because I had watched for a little bit and the blinds were coldcalling preflop without exception. Anyone do it differently?

I dont CC with low pockets in MP, maybe CO or button with a couple callers, but i think calling is fine givin your reads on the blinds. I play it the same except call the river when he caps the turn and leads out. Unless he slow played AK (which you are way ahead of) or KK on the flop, he probably just hit his set on the turn.

Edit...missed where you posted...a must call.

Given that you posted in MP, calling is fine. However, posting in MP isn't good.

Edit: I guess you were actually CO, but it's still not good to post when short handed. Even so, given that you posted, calling the raise is mandatory with 22.

I don't post playing SH. You can use the extra 3 hands to start picking up reads on everybody. You're not waiting that long and reads are much more valuable than the 3 extra hands, especially if you're just starting off.

Post-flop, this is fine.

I've been thinking about this lately. Is it really a bad thing? We're paying 1.5 sb to play every 5-6 hands, so around .25sb per hand. If we post in the cutoff, we're paying .33-.5sb per hand so this round is slightly -EV (until the blind reaches us) but we have excellent position and make it difficult for someone in early position to try to steal. And many players will give credit when we raise since "we could have played for free" and they don't have a read on us yet.

Granted it doesn't really make a whole lot of difference - the hundred hands we play after this one at this table will make this decision almost irrelevant.

WARNING WARNING THIS IS NOT A DRILL!

This is always a big hand. I would never have gone this many bets postflop. If he didn't show you top set I will be absolutely shocked.
