Best Practice for calling a girl after getting her number?

I got the number of my waitress last night at a brewpub. Is there a standard best practice to handle this situation? How many days should I wait before I call her? What should be game plan be for the conversation? We do not live in the same town, does this change my game plan?

Don't wait to long and don't call her that same night. A 24-48 hour wating period is fine.

1. If your going to be nervous write down her name on a piece of paper. so you don't freeze up when someone picks up and you don't remmeber who to ask for.
2. Don't bring up your ex girlfriends (any of them) - and don't mention how you have never gotten a waitresses phone number before.
