Default Any justification for this?

Home game, payout $200, $100, $40, four handed. BB fairly solid, but will call preflop raises when he shouldn't. I had stolen his blinds twice in the short period since we became four handed.

Blinds 200/400

Hero UTG 3,000
Villain 10,500
SB 350
BB 1,650

Hero dealt 66

Hero raises to 140, Villain reraises to 240, hero reraises ai to 300.

I assume that is supposed to read "Hero raises to 1400, Villain reraises to 2400, hero reraises ai to 3000.

If the BB calls raises occasionally when he shouldn't, then that's strike one against trying to steal from UTG with 66.

After the Villian (and large stack) raised to 2400, I think you have to lay it down. He could be way ahead with a higher pocket pair, or it could very likely be a coinflip. You're very unlikely going to be far ahead of him.

By raising to 2400, he's pot committed, so reraising won't push him out. If you fold, you still have t1600, which isn't much in terms of # of blinds, but I still think you have to lay this down.

You started the hand with less than 8 BB; I would probably push or fold, and in your position I'd tend to lay this down unless the table was very tight, which you indicated it wasn't.

If you are going to raise, push allin.

Fold preflop. SB is dead next round. You were so close to the money. This is a common example of overaggression on the bubble.

Horrible play with SB so short stacked. Too easy to make the money; there's no need to even play this hand especially when you don't have any FE over villian.

Thanks. That's what I thought after he busted me.

My idea was raise and fold to a reraise. But after the reraise I felt committed, 1600 to win 5000 and make me chip leader.

Right, which is why not pushing or folding with 8x BB is lousy poker. I think this is a fold, but this very well could be a push too.

PS. I didn't see the payout. Push initially, and it's not close.
