Turbo Texas Hold\'em
Does anyone here have experience using the Turbo Texas Hold'em software, and would you reccommend it (or against it)? I've been playing for a while, and to use the essay on this site (http://www.twoplustwo.com/zee2.html) about the stages of being a poker player, I'm somewhere between the "tight/passive" and "loose/tricky" stages of developement. Which is to say, sometimes I make successful tricky plays, but I think I get too excited about them and try to make too many.
Anyway, if this software was $30-40, I'd almost certainly have bought it, but at a whopping $90, its a much tougher call. I've played through the demo (which has a limited numbe of preset hands), and there are some pretty neat features. Anyway, any advice is defnitely appreciated. Chris |

Re: Turbo Texas Hold\'em
Hi Chris:
I use it. There are some good threads on it here, just use the search function. Most of the discussion was in the Books/Software room I believe. If you get it, I'd like to see what you think. Thanks. |

Re: Turbo Texas Hold\'em
Hello Cferejohn,
I purchased the software before I ever played a real money hand. After playing over 50,000 software hands I ventured into the casino for my first real money experience. Understand that this is before I ever read a book on the subject or knew anything about hand selection and position. Anyway I played nervously for two hours and lost $1 in a loose passive game. Now after 6 months of Turbo and book reading I dominate that same game. Won $400 in a six hour session the last time I played. It's a 3/6 game by the way. So my recommendation is to forget about price. It pays for itself. And yes, I still use Turbo to refine my play by changing lineups and running simulations. A great tool. |
