Default quick bankroll question (not much content)

How much do I need to play 1-2 limit hold 'em to ensure variance does not break me?

Well it's a function of your winrate and variance (the square of your std dev). Well that's almost true, you see if you have a negative win rate then nothing will stop you from going broke, but if you have a large positive one with a low variance then you bankroll can be fairly small, as those numbers change and you winrate goes down or your variance goes up then the bankroll has to grow to compensate.

So without going into all the math since it's likely that you don't have an established winrate much like I don't have an established handicap, the general rule of thumb for hold'em is 300BB or $600 at 1/2.
