Default Need a new mouse, suggestions?

Just got a new computer and now need a new mouse. Any suggestions? I don't want wireless but want either laser or optical, not sure which is the way to go. Thanks.

I have the Optical, works on all surfaces. Easy take with me. My vote optical.

laser > optical

But for most people it doesn't matter.

Microsoft 1007 wireless. One for my left hand, right monitor; one for my right hand, left monitor. Don't ask me why - it works.

This mouse survives a pretty good impact, and I had quite the raquetball serve before "the incident".

logitech mx laser is great. Tracks super fast - good if you multimonitor. It's cordless but dont know why you dont want that.

I've tried many. I have 3 by me now. The Gyration mouse is funky for a change of grip but not so good if you have bigger hands, as I do.

I avoided getting a cordless because I had legitimate fear that I would throw it in frustration. Anybody else have this reasoning?

Microsoft Intellimouse Optical is my favorite.
2 side buttons are great, can assign keys to them (I use pgup/pgdown, good for browsing posts.. faster than the mouse wheel).

Basically any optical mouse tho - I haven't had one wear out at all like the ball ones.
