Default So, what did you get (and give) for the holidays?

I'm starting the thread early because I got some presents on Christmas eve. Year before college, parents split for a long time, you get the idea

Anyways, I've gotten a 5 month membership to Gold's gym, $130 in gift cards for Galyan's (a sporting goods store), $20 at the local bookstore, and a bitchin' $40 blanket for college. Plus some scratch-off lottery tickets, with which I won zero money

I also gave some wireless headphones to my dad and a Josh Groban CD to my grandmother. And that's only Christmas eve! Hoorah!

What did you get (and give) for the holidays?

So far I've gotten a nice money clip, a kick-ass pewter mini-keg and shot glass set. I'll get more in about 4 hours.

I don't give Christmas, since I think it goes against the spirit of the holiday - greed.

What'd you get for Hanukkah, then? (forgive me if I'm being ignorant)

Think I'm gonna get a pair of working headphones.

Got: nothing.

Gave:

To my niece:

1 of the 3 anime she wanted, one was actually borderline Japanese porn (but she didn't realize that), so she doesn't get that one until she's like 12 or 13 at least, and another apparently isn't available on DVD.

A bike.

Random Lord of the Rings and Shrek toys.

A telescope. (5 year old kids love that stuff).

Some GBA games.

Dad:

Ordered foodstuffs for him that aren't available in Nevada.

Mom:

Some shirts.

Sister:

A watch.

Christmas is about the little ones. It's not about some Jesus or a fat guy driving a sleigh. It's about the youngest people thinking that there really is magic at least one day a year. They have the rest of their lives to find out how horrible life can be.

For me it's truly a love/hate relationship. I hate it for me, but love it for the kids. If it weren't for them I'd probably shoot myself in the head once per December.

Yeah, but she gave it to you 7 times, no? That's 140 pounds.
