Not necessarily 'sleepers', like people you've never heard of, but any major leaguer who will produce a lot better than where he will be (if at all) drafted:
I think Derrek Lee and JD Drew are gonna have big years, and Bobby Crosby will produce enough to make Tejada's departure not as big a loss. As for disappointments, I don't think Loiaza will nearly match last year's performance, Preston Wilson will probably get hurt, and I don't think Jason Giambi will do much of anything. Who do you like/dislike? |

Given what Crosby's done in spring training so far, as well as the hype surrounding how he got the job (A's gave up in the Tejada race because they had him...), I don't think he'll be the value that you're hoping for.
If people give up on Giambi, then I think he may be a good value. With the added protection in the lineup, he doesn't have to strive as much to be "the man". He hit pretty well in oakland before he started in on the (alleged) juice, so I think he has it in him to do good things. I'm looking at Eric Chavez to have a breakout year, but I like him, so I may be a little biased. Also look for a slump buster from Shawn Green He's too good a ball player to have back to back down years, and he has something to prove. |

What kind of breakout year do you expect out of Chavez? He's already a .280/30/110 guy. I'm not sure if he has it in him to have one of those .300/40/120 type years.
Another sleeper I forgot about is Pat Burrell. While I wouldn't be ready to wager on a 2002-like season for him, I would wager my left testicle that he'll hit better than .209 and have more than 21 homers like he did last year. |

The biggest fantasy baseball dissapointment in 2004 was that John Hunt didn't invite me back to defend my LABR championship.

I actually think Chavez is capable of a 300/40/130 kind of year. His swing's pretty solid, and his errors in the past year have been the maturity type rather than the hole-in-swing type. But again, I'm biased towards him.

Chavez has the skill to put up those numbers but he's not going to get much help from his team. The A's lineup is weak, and Chavez will get little protection.

I agree. Shawn Green is a stud. Also, Edwin Jackson throws alot of heat and BJ Upton.

I think Arod in that lineup should be a sure number one fantasy pick. Javier Vasquez should win alot of games with the Yankees while putting up other great fantasy numbers. Look at the Angels team for greatly improved stats. I will need to place more thought for additional opinions.
