Re: AQs against a LAG
On the turn, he's acting like he's hit 2 pair, a set, or the wheel. I doubt that even supermaniac is going to raise you up with AJ on the board if he just hit a pair of deuces.
Something like A2 seems just as likely as 53 or 22 to me, so I probably bet into him on the river, but just call the raise. |

Re: AQs against a LAG
My main concern would be his flop smoothcall. A true maniac is raising when he catches any piece of the board ... unless he flops a monster (maniacs often like to slowdown when they have real hands for some reason). This makes it less likely he would have a hand like A2 and more likely he has a big hand when he raises the turn although it could just as easily be A4 or AJ. With that in mind I think you can maybe just call the raise, although I wouldn't dislike a checkraise and call of the 3-bet either.

Then just call his 3 bet, rather than your play, you are loosing more when you are behind, and making the same when you are ahead. (To understand, I don't think you are ahead on the river now due to him capping) |

He called my PFR with 35 (it was soooooooted!) and hit his straight on the turn. Ugh. Rob |

Re: AQs against a LAG
Hi Entity,
I like the way you played this. When MP2 caps it, I would start to become suspicious that his most likely hands are the QcJc or a very tricky KcTc or maybe 44. If you lost the hand, it's too bad, but you will still often beat AJ and A2s on the river here (rather brutally). |
