Default custom chip advice

Gallery

I am debating between custom Pokerchips.com chips and the new egyptian paulsons.

So, this weekend, instead of doing my taxes, I have been toying with an insert design. I have no artistic talent so it is really only text with a center logo/graphic.

I am thinking of the logo only on one side and the logo with text on the other.

What do you think? Is it too busy, or will it be too small to read?

Thanks,

Leonard

- Obviously, my last name is DeCarlo. I live in Tyler, TX USA

i like the first one, the plain DC. i had this same sort of conundrum on my hands a few weeks ago. i like the pokerchips chips; i guess i'll buy some one day.

i'm too impulsive, and i need new chips too much to be able to wait for 4 months.

I think that all designs except the first simple "DC" one will be too busy and feature skinny fonts that won't be legible when reduced to chip size. My 2c.

DC on one side.

Modified logo on the other. Just suggestions, so take with a shaker of salt.

1. use #2 as a base for the obverse
2. remove all text except gray background
3. add 'club decarlo' or 'decarlo club' at the top in black
4. add 'tyler, tx' at the bottom in black
5. add denomination in red
6. leave the big 'dc' alone, but consider varying the other fonts used for text - size, weight and color differences are good but (again just my opinion) you would be well off to make a stand in the form of the other text (denoms could be left in a similar font as the DC but in a lighter weight like the rest of the text).

Ooops, sorry Leonard... I didn't realize I was continuing a hijack....

BACK ON LEONARDS TOPIC!

I like #4 for the obverse. I would put #2 on the reverse but change the "wrap text" to the same as the obverse for a little continuity. I think you'll have to bold those thin fonts.

Added #5 which is kind of what you asked for.

yeah, that's pretty cool man. that little "est 1982" is going to disappear on a chip though. In my estimation, a 200dpi image printed on a laser printer is going to be about what you'll see under the inlay after they use 300dpi to create them due to the plastic of the inlay. I'm not sure but I think pc.com uses a 7/8in inlay.

First and foremost, I suggest getting the Pharaoh's Club Paulson's

Second, if you don't, or you want a second set, I would use the third logo. It's classic, and the red DC really stands out. I like it a lot.

(maybe buy a Paulson set, and use the DC's as labels for a set of RPT Nexgens?)
