Re: Information Awareness Office
Andy,
With only a few slight modifications, I plan to introduce these goals as "Learning Outcome Initiatives" at the next committee meeting. Boy, I'm really glad sometimes that I've downloaded the virtual bubble wrap. John |

Re: Information Awareness Office
Good post Andy, I also read the article chuck tacked on to this thread and enjoyed it.
The language on the website is quientissenal jargon, bureaucratese, doublespeak, and obfuscation rolled into a fine-tune package of paranoia. And Pointdexter is the point man for this new agency. This should illicit much confidence to the American Public. Reading what these people are writing is a scream. Of couse, I guess, they are serious. Truth maintenance. This is one of the better "bullet headings". As everyone knows "Truth" must be maintained. Truth must be cared for, fondled over, massaged, and most of all; made easy on the mind of the listener or reader. This is a tall order and one that is of great responsibility; so the goverment must step in and act. It is the only sensible thing to do - after all, "The truth will set you free". And freedom must be maintained. I rest my case. -Zeno |

Re: Information Awareness Office: Genoa
Check out the Genoa program on this website: Genoa
This is already completed according to the website. What it really is I do not know but it looks interesting. Anybody got a clue. Is darpa a new comedy team? And if you think this is good - I have another one that I must post that is the real screamer. I love it. It deserves its own post. -Zeno |

Re: Information Awareness Office: Genoa II
Genoa I was just the appetizer. Genoa II is the main course. Check out the website and please READ IT ALL. Genoa II
You may not understand it all or any of it but it bests Abbott and Costello's "Who's on first" by a mile. Pay particular attention to "Program Stragegy" points 1,2,and 3. I need one of the "cognitive amplifiers" to enhance my poker skills at the table. Can anyone explain the diagram? I got lost. After reading this I asked myself, Are they going to bring in Cleo the psychic to help them also? - or will it be part of a Genoa III project. -Zeno |

Re: Information Awareness Office: Genoa
Zeno,
I've been checking out the EELG. Apparently, when this program starts reading our email, we should be careful. Avoid sentences like "My closest door fell off its hinges, and all of my friends, carrying their tools, arrived late at night to solve the problem." John |

Re: Information Awareness Office: Genoa
John,
What is this EELG thing? I did a web search on the acronym and found nothing relevant. Sounds interesting - I assume it is some intrustive internet program to steal what little privacy is left to individuals. -Zeno |

Re: Information Awareness Office
christ on a bicycle... that page probably cost the US tax payer $1500 to develop and install and it's total semantic content approaches absolutely zero. How many meaningless buzz words can you put on a single page and not have it implode? Ask DARPA, they seem to know...
