Preflop: You need to raise this against an openlimper from the SB. What is your reasoning for checking when there is a 80% chance you have the best hand? You are just giving him the opportunity to steal with a flop bet if you miss.
Flop: 3-betting would be bad. You may get him to fold a worse hand that is drawing dead (or nearly dead). Turn: Sometimes I will just call this turn as I don't want to push him off a worse hand. If I had a higher kicker then I would consider raising here as I would feel comfortable capping if he 3-bets. With only a 7 kicker, I'm not confident if he 3-bets. If the board was more draw-heavy then I would raise here. I will often wait until the river to raise this hand with this board texture. |
