Default Greatest hand I have ever seen!

I am in a eight person home tourney with my friends with a buy-in of 50$. This is absolutely enormous, considering most of us of Sophomores in High School...

We fight for 4 hours down to the final two and I have about 800 chips to his 900.

Prize Payouts are:
1st: 300
2nd: 50
3rd: 50

So, basically, we got a 250$ difference between second and first.

Since we are heads up, we are using antes of 25.
To the hand!

I have A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and absorbe a preflop raise of fifty from my opponent. I reraise to 200, considering that he is a tight player and not wanting to scare him away.

Flop is the glorious A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
I have the obvious nuts so I don't wanna scare him away. He fires in a raise? of 100 more and I hesitantly (or so it would seem) call.

Turn: is the 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and I am raised 250, and I am praying that he has the flush, or at least a draw. OR, maybe he is representing Trip aces. I put in a small raise in of 100 more, trying to give the draw good odds and the made flush great ones. He calls.

River: Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
He goes all in and I beat him into the pot.
I am so happy I have won it big!
Greatest had ever!

he turns over KoJax Clubs... That's slang for K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I had to save the suspense for the end!

Now... I can wait for someone to tell me that I misplayed the second best hand in poker.

Perhaps this will make you feel better: It is actually the 41st best hand in poker (40 different straight flushes better than your hand). If you include wild card games where 5 of a kind is the best hand then your quad aces are only the 54th best hand. Now perhaps losing to the royal flush doesn't seem so bad after all! Tough hand, however:

I heard one of the pro's on WPT being interviewed who said "you can't really appreciate winning a million $ hand, until you've lost one."

Better luck next time.

Doyle mentions that EXACT hand in Super/System, p. 345 of my edition.

If you play this game long enough, you'll see everything

If that ever happens to you in most casinos you will jump up and down and start dancing because you would have just won a bad beat jackpot which is often worth $50k+. Tough luck, but what are you going to do.

A few days ago I have the 9s and the river gives me a straight flush through the Ks. At first I was hoping that someone else had a flush through the A and then I quickly realized that it woudn't be good at all since they would have a royal straight flush (the board was T-Ks). Luckily noboyd had the As.

I believe that was Ted Forrest, I liked that quote too.

that's simply not true, there are 10 hands better than 4 aces, a striaght flush is a striaght flush regardless of suite so there are only ten hands better. However, re-rasing 100 afer a 250 bet? you realize you aren't playing by the right rules? anyways, nh.
