New to NL, Did I need a Killer Instinct for This Hand?
First post....help me out with any recommendations for this NL hand. The results were
positive but I need to learn how to do better. Table was fairly tight, I had only played about 20 hands but I didn't see any raises of All-in. Seat 5 is the button Total number of players : 10 Seat 1: iamshows ( $21.75) Seat 2: The_Duff_Man ( $29.50) Seat 3: duckey123 ( $24.50) Seat 4: BRIANSLADER ( $45.50) Seat 5: Itsonlyasix ( $23.25) Seat 6: ANGFILIPPONE ( $25) Seat 7: snappoker ( $8.30) Seat 8: Out Seat 9: dowman ( $23) Seat 10: tizza ( $44.35) snappoker posts small blind (0.25) dowman posts big blind (0.50) Dealt to The_Duff_Man [ Jd, Jc ] tizza calls (0.50) The_Duff_Man raises (2) to 2 snappoker calls (1.75) tizza calls (1.50) Preflop - I was thinking I wanted one or two callers. Should I bet more because my hand is so vulnerable, trying to knock out everyone and get just the blinds and the one caller? Flop [ 2s, Js, 2c ] snappoker checks. tizza bets (4) The_Duff_Man calls (4) snappoker folds. Flop - Pretty much a perfect flop, and he is betting into me. If I raise I am guessing I will knock him out because buy in was $25 and he has $44, so he has either been playing well or getting lucky. By limping maybe I can get him to raise all the way to the river. Turn [ As ] tizza bets (2) The_Duff_Man calls (2) Turn - The same scenario as above. I am not concerned he has AA since he didn't raise preflop. River [ Qd ] tizza bets (2) The_Duff_Man raises (10) to 10 tizza calls (8) River - Based on the size of his bets I don't think he hit a hand that will beat me. I want to make sure he calls my bet. Am I wrong for not throwing my whole stack in, or is that what most winning players would do? $10 was about half of my remaining stack. Board: [ 2s Js 2c As Qd ] The_Duff_Man [ Jd Jc ] tizza [ Jh Qh ] He hit two pair, but even if I was holding AA or KK I would have him beat because of the 2s on the board. Hard to guess if he'd have called an all-in bet by me, he hit his hand but he might have figured me as slow-playing. What do you think? The result was still positive, but am I better off throw all-in and go for the throat? |
