Loose, mostly passive $.50-1 partypoker table.
I ante up in the 8 seat. I tried to clean up the hand history, but forgive me if the below is hard to follow. Player6 showing 2d brings it in for a quarter two seats to my right Player 7 showing 9c calls I am dealt [5h Qh] 5c. I call (5s, Qs, and hearts being almost totally live) Player1[ 4s ] Player2 [ 6d ] Player3 [ Td ] Player4 [ 2h ] Player5 [ 6s ] All call - family pot ** Fourth street ** Player1 4s 9d Player2 6d Ah Player3 Td 3c Player4 2h Jc Player5 6s Qd Player6 2d Qc Player7 9c As ME [5h Qh] 5c 5s ME bets the double $1 Player1 4s 9d - calls Player2 6d Ah - calls Player3 Td 3c - calls Player4 2h Jc -calls Player5 6s Qd -calls Player6 folds. Player7 folds. ** Fifth street ** Player1 4s 9d 9s Player2 6d Ah 9h Player3 Td 3c 3d Player4 2h Jc 8h Player5 6s Qd Tc ME [5h Qh] 5c 5s 3h Player1checks. Player2 checks. Player3 checks. Player4 bets $1 Player5 calls $1 ME raises to $2 Player1folds. Player2 calls $2 Player3 calls $2 Player4 calls $1 Player5 calls (1) ** Sixth street ** Player2 6d Ah 9h Ac Player3 Td 3c 3d 4c Player4 2h Jc 8h Kh Player5 6s Qd Tc 6c ME [5h Qh] 5c 5s 3h 7h Player2 bets $1 Player3 calls $1 Player4 calls $1 Player5 folds. ME raises $2 Player2 raises to $3 Player3 calls $2 Player4 calls $2 ME raises to $4 Player2 calls $1 Player3 calls $1 Player4 calls $1 ** The River ** ME [5h Qh] 5c 5s 3h 7h [ 7s ] Player2 [X X] 6d Ah 9h Ac [X] bets $1 Player3 folds. Player4 folds. ME raises $2 Player2 calls $1 Results later. Main question: sixth street -- did I overplay it, or does the flush draw along with the trips warrant a cap? Comments appreciated on all streets, of course. CMP |

4 saw the river card, but my lone opponent who showed down after the river action showed
[Ad Ks] 6d Ah 9h Ac [Ts] And my 5s full took it down. Turns out I was behind on 6th. CMP |

Seems like you played just fine to me. On sixth, when the Aces come over the top, I think he's saying he has trip Fives beaten. There are also a couple of other players to worry about. I would probably have just called his bet, and I would certainly only call his three-bet, unless he was someone I knew could get seriously out of line in this spot. Raise the river. Hope you won.

i think you played it OK. i am thinking you won the hand but i didnt read the results yet. his reraise when he catches the ace probably means two pairs, since if he could beat trip fives he would raise again.

You were behind, but there were others that were probably behind you that were putting money in the pot for you. Keep pumping money in if others are gonna call.

i dont think the third street play is correct. calling is probably the worst option here since the ante is relatively large. if no one will fold then you probably should fold, but raising is better than calling.
sixth street is veryplayer dependent. it is possible that he played a lone ace and has trips, in which case you dont want any folders, because you will win a bigger pot if you fill and he doesnt or isnt already filled. butsince everyone called i guess it was the right play. the point is that you want to build a big pot. your flush draw makes little difference in the strategy, but of course it helps you. seventh street is interesting to me, unless you won the hand. if you lost and the aces filled then he made a big error. but i will have to read the results with bated breath. pat |

cmp,
Played well and you can see that pairing the door card usually makes good players drop. In this case only a couple of players paid attention to the warning of trips. In a HTH battle with player 2 I would of put him on a full house on 6th street, but with everybody playing who knows you mite as well raise. Hearts seem to be pretty tied up with player 4 unless he has two small pair. The hearts could be all out. As others have said people are putting in money with less than your hand so why not raise. The third street call is correct. He describes the game as loose and passive, so a raise isn't going to thin the field too much, and he has little fear of a raise behind him. He hit his door card on fourth and three other players saw the river, so his implied odds were obviously good. In loose low limit games, I often find that I can see fifth and even sixth for the bring-in, which is even more reason to limp in. Sixth street play might be debatable; third street is not, in my opinion.
