Rather be Good and Lucky (Hand Analysis)
Situation: About 2 hours into a live game 4-8 session. I've been playing tight and my raises are starting to get respect from a rather typical loose passive table.
The Hand: I'm UTG dealt K [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] and raise. It is folded to the button (old man, tight solid player) who calls. SB folds and the BB calls (plays decent starters but whines alot when they are beaten by poorer starting hands as happens in 4-8). Flop: 9 [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img] BB checks, I bet, button calls, BB calls Turn: (9 [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img])Q [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img] BB bets, I raise, button cold calls (?), BB calls River9 [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img])Q [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img] BB checks, I bet, button calls, BB calls I'll give my reasonings on this hand along with the result in a bit but I'm curious what the peanut gallery thinks. Looks like standard operating procedure to me.

I like it, your not saying he called two with Q9 are you?

Re: Rather be Good and Lucky (Hand Analysis Result)
Close. The button mucked. I can only presume that he was a lose 9 or the strait (less likely). What else could cold call 2 bets on the turn? The blind showed me Q9o, a counterfitted fullhouse. For the next five minutes he bitched to the guy to his right that I had no business raising the turn, and the preflop for that matter because he then put me on pocket Kings and didn't reraise. He tilted and was gone 20 minutes later still complaining about the "one" outer (actually was 3 but I feel his pain ).

Re: Rather be Good and Lucky (Hand Analysis)
one of the peanuts thinks you obviously took down the pot and probably could not have played it much differently.
