PartyPoker Sit and Go Pay Out?!

I played a sit and go today for the first time (20$/2$ NL Holdem) on PartyPoker and got second. Instead of giving me MONEY they gave me a freeroll entry into a mini step tournament. WTF. Is this something I could of avoided or what?

You probably played a Mini-Step 2 for $20+2.

Make sure you are in the Sit&Go/Single-Table/Regular/$20/2 screen, and not the Sit&Go/Steps screen.
