Vampire: The Requiem

For those of you who enjoy table top RPG's, how does Requiem compare to Vampire: The Masquerade. I've heard mixed reviews and I'm interested in starting a game with some buddies of mine.

Is it true that they destroyed the Caine origin story and reduced the number of clans? And how does the new dice mechanics hold up... better then V:TM?

Any feedback would be great.
