Am I over-playing two-pair on 6-max? I feel like just calling the C/R would be missing out on value bets, but I cannot find it in me to fold something like top-two-pair on these boards fearing a set. I generally expect to be against a weaker two-pair or some overplayed hand. Perhaps this [censored] variance is clouding my judgment, but I'm starting to think I should just be calling down turn C/R with two-pair.
Neither of the villains were extremely passive or aggressive. In the first hand, the villain was tight-ish. In the second hand, the villain was loose. I haven't seen them do any fancy plays yet and it's early in the session. (Anyone find a working AbsolutePoker HH converter? I tried re-ordering the seats but that didn't work for me.) First, just type out the hands. It doesn't take that long and you'll get more replies.
As far as these go, they both look OK to me. In both cases, my first guess would be that villain has a worse 2pr until the cap. I think they're both fine. Villain could easily have something like Q8 or A8 in the first. The 2nd is a bit tougher, since the board is less likely to hit villain hard. I might call the C/R and call down after that. I think the first is a definite 3-bet, though, since this is a worse 2-pair way more often than a flopped set. |

both are pretty painful hands, as the boards dont complete on the turn. meaning there are really only 2 hands the vils will have 90%+ of the time.
2 pair or a set. i really feel despite your variance your gonna see a slowplayed worse 2 pair or a chop way more than your gonna see that set. i think both hands were played perfectly up til the river. on both hands i think its fairly read dependent whether or not to raise... although im slightly more likely to raise the river in hand 1 due to the greater possibility of hands like A6 or A8 than Q4/Q5 being played in hand 2. against agg vils i raise rivers and call a 3 bet against passive vils i probly still raise hand 1, but call hand 2. (oh and btw, yeah typing out the hands could be an idea. tho 4 handed in this format i had absolutely no trouble reading it. just dont do it for full ring i guess) |
