Default large and strange hand

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

table has a 45+ vpip. Very loose and passive.

Preflop: Hero is Button with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG calls,1 fold, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 raises, 2 folds, Hero calls, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls.

I figured this situation was as good as having 4 cold callers in front of me.

Flop: (15 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (7 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+2 bets, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, Hero calls , SB calls, BB calls, UTG folds.

massive odds to go for a bd flush draw

Turn: (10 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG+2 checks, MP2 checks, Hero checks.

I probably screwed the pooch by not betting for value here. After considering for too long I feared another caller holding the K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and took the free card. How horrible is this?

river card and action in white. Please do not look until you respond to the rest of the hand. Thx!

River: (10 BB) K diamond (5 players)
SB bets, BB calls, UTG+2 raises, MP2 folds, Hero 3-bets, SB folds, BB folds, UTG+2 calls.

Final Pot: 18 BB

The turn check is fine. Your bet is breakeven against 4 callers (but if one folds, you lose), and you're unlikely to fold out an A (so no clearing up outs for you).

With the backdoor straight possibility, it's not terrible.

I'm like an artist. I draw well!

on the flop I was relying on the fact that these guys play the river sooo poorly as well as the straight draw to keep going.

my real Q is pf here.

what are you doing calling the flop? a bdfd is a 1.5 outer. look up what kind of pot odds you need for that. not even close.

tack on another ~.75 outs for the backdoor straight draw and 17:1 starts to not look so bad.

if the table is passive then you're going to need more than top pair to take it down. I fold it.

.75 for a double gapper seems generous. add in the fact that if a J or K hits on 4th street (or if pfr is sandbagging) we might have to put in multiple big bets and we are, once again, sad in the pants.

nah. still looks bad. you're not even breaking even if SB and BB come along and you have to catch runner-runner so you have to get lucky twice, plus you'll be (usually) paying another on the turn and you don't know how many will be along there either.
