Would you be opposed to a national DNA databank...
... consisting of EVERYONE's DNA?
Not just that of convicted felons... but literally a sample of DNA taken at birth that will stay on record forever. |

Re: Would you be opposed to a national DNA databank...
Why did you reverse the question? I almost answered wrong.
I don't think even convicted felons should have DNA data stored, with the possible exception of sexual predators. |

Re: Would you be opposed to a national DNA databank...
We should be keeping DNA records of convicted felons. Maybe some of our UK friends can tell us how it's working over there?

We should be keeping DNA records of convicted felons. [/ QUOTE ] My problem with this is that in my view the majority of felonies shouldn't be. |

This is probably going to happen anyways in the next 10 years when gene sequencing becomes available to help people determine what types of diseases they are geneically likely to have.

[/ QUOTE ] This is brilliant. We'll deter people from getting their infants tested by maintaining DNA files. |

Re: Would you be opposed to a national DNA databank...
Modern transportation technology already has us in the middle of a genetic revolution.
Why tweak things more by engineering the geonome when we can't predict what will happen ten generations down the line? |

Re: Would you be opposed to a national DNA databank...
I think this would be a good idea... I'm wondering why people would be opposed (unless you are a murderer or rapist).
It would protect a lot more people than it would hurt i think |
