Default Checkraise flop or turn?

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

I have been at the table for about 12 hands. There hasn't been that much preflop raising so far but I don't think you can read anything from that. 4 to the flop is normal it seems...

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG raises, 3 folds, Hero 3-bets, CO calls, Button calls, SB caps, 1 fold, UTG calls, Hero calls, CO calls, Button calls.

Flop: (21 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero checks, CO checks, Button bets, SB calls, UTG calls, Hero raises, CO calls, Button calls, SB calls, UTG calls.

Turn: (15.50 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, CO calls, Button calls, SB folds, UTG calls.

River: (19.50 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, CO folds, Button folds, UTG calls.

Final Pot: 21.50 BB

I assume the river bet is standard... I am sure I would call the raise, though I wouldn't like it.

Thanks,

PSW

could you please explain why betting here is better than checking to the capper with the intent of raising?

Perhaps I should have bet into him hoping to get raised, and then checkraised the turn? Hmmm... that does sound good to me.

Yes. In my experience, I have found that it is giganticaly better to lead at the flop rather than check-raising.

If you get raised on the flop, re-raise and just keep leading. Same on the turn & river.

The capper already checked. Bet, 3-bet a raise or depending on who calls, call the raise and pop the turn. A flop CR will only slow everyone down.
