tough JJ hand, party NL50
No reads on villain
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (9 handed) converter Hero ($85.65) UTG+1 ($117) MP1 ($43.1) MP2 ($64.75) MP3 ($49.25) CO ($125.3) Button ($56) SB ($49) BB ($61.05) Preflop: Hero is UTG with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25. Hero raises to $2.5, 6 folds, SB (poster) raises to $5.75, 1 fold, Hero calls $3.50. Flop: ($12.50) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero checks. Turn: ($12.50) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets $8, Hero calls $8. River: ($28.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero checks. Final Pot: $28.50 In retrospect, the turn call was probably bad, I was beat by most anything I could reasonably be up against (AA, AK, KK, QQ), but had to figure both the A and the 9 were live outs that could lead to a big win, and I wouldnt pay anything else off. But given that I did call the turn, his river check indicated that he didnt have an A. If he did have an A, he would have most likely value bet it. If I pushed the river, I might have chased off a better set. Would that have been a good play, or should I have just checked and cut my losses like I did? |
