Default tough JJ hand, party NL50

No reads on villain

Flop: ($12.50) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)

River: ($28.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: $28.50

In retrospect, the turn call was probably bad, I was beat by most anything I could reasonably be up against (AA, AK, KK, QQ), but had to figure both the A and the 9 were live outs that could lead to a big win, and I wouldnt pay anything else off.

But given that I did call the turn, his river check indicated that he didnt have an A. If he did have an A, he would have most likely value bet it. If I pushed the river, I might have chased off a better set. Would that have been a good play, or should I have just checked and cut my losses like I did?
