Default If you could add any event to the wsop...

..what would it be and why?

No limitation on the game being a poker game. I was under the impression that they ran an unofficial hearts event for a while, but I have no idea re: the details. Hell, you don't even have to pick a card game. "Water polo" is an example of crossing the line of absurdity.

I would quite honestly like to see a solitaire tournament more than anything else, but if I had to choose a poker game, I would like to see stud hilo w/ no qualifier. That or badougi.

I know there would be no real draw for any of these games (pun intended, RIP mike caro's only chance for a bracelet), but the WSOP is just an amazing example of commercial whoring. 29 of the 42 events now are hold'em and catering to that kind of lowest common denominator game pisses me off. It doesn't take a lifetime to master hold'em. A few young players are proving it doesn't even take 5 years.

ps does anyone know what 'match play' and 'mixed doubles' are? These events disappeared shortly before the women's event switched from stud to hold'em.

A combo game of the eight games they play in the 4k/8k.

Match play was heads-up matches, mixed doubles was a team of two (male/female) who'd switch playing every 30 minutes or so.

Scott Fischman got his 2nd bracelet in HORSE, maybe that's why they're not offering it this year.
