Re: Raising on the river.
I have KQ, you have AJd, AQ, something else, I don't know. I'm not folding.

Re: Raising on the river.
You have AQ, possibly AQd.
TA may have KQs/o, KJs, KTs, 77-TT -- and I think he can find a fold of anything but KQ here -- unless he has JTd, in which case he 3-bets. -d |

Hero had 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I came close to folding on the turn, but thought I had a shot at more outs on the river than just the two eights given my read. This is a play I would use sparingly, given it needs to work quite often to be +EV. Any other thoughts? |

Re: Raising on the river.
Looks to me like you have some kind of a suited ace here. Either AQ [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] or AJ [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Meh I was way off.
My only argument with popping the river is that he will often times have Ax [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. His flop check raise is probably the best way to play this hand (something like A9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]) since he might get you do fold a hand like AJ or TT. Not many players will be able to toss in top pair to a river raise here, so if he does have a suited ace that would be my only corcern. You are getting 4.6:1 on the raise however, and you have to assume that he will muck a hand like KJs in this spot. You took a read and went with it...nice hand. Brad |

[/ QUOTE ] Thanks Brad, My default play from the blind in this situation(villain) with a flush draw is to smooth call and draw, figuring I am behind. The added fold equity from a deceptive c-r can be a nice move against the right players. Thanks, TripleH. |
