Default A9s -- hand protection with mid pair

Good idea?

Reads: preflop raiser tight but very weak (think prototypical Party 1/2 player). MP1 is loose and very passive -- what I like to call a nice juicy one.

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Greg is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls, 1 fold, MP1 calls, MP2 raises, 3 folds, Greg calls, UTG calls, MP1 calls.

Flop: (8.50 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
Greg checks, UTG checks, MP1 checks, MP2 bets, Greg raises, UTG folds, MP1 calls, MP2 folds.

Turn: (6.75 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Greg bets, MP1 calls.

River: (8.75 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Greg bets, MP1 calls.

Final Pot: 10.75 BB

I certainly think so.

Hand plays itself after the flop action.

Nice hand.

Seems pretty standard to this lowly nanolimiter. Good job rivering the ace.

You are way the hell ahead of where I was when playing the nanos then! I am starting to think maybe I get this poker stuff after all.

Oh, and yeah, thanks for noticing for river -- my rivering abilities have been improving as of late. Turns out I didn't need it. I just looked and villian had (get this): 22.

lot of check-raising the flop today!

i think a lot of this is predicated on how good a feeling you have that PFR will bet this flop in late position for you to isolate. were you surprised by MP1's calling 2? what did you put him on at that point?
