Default I\'ve been caught stealin...

Ouch, 3 steals in a row get picked off. I want to know if they were OK to make, or if I shouldn't have been so aggressive. All steals on Party $50+5 - Table was tight preflop - most hands didn't have a flop. Keep in mind that these are the only hands I've played in the last 3-4 orbits.

Steal #1 - When I was five...

BB is t200

CO (t600)
Button (t1835)
SB (t1930)
BB (t815)
UTG (t990)
Hero (t3830)

Preflop: Hero is MP with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG folds, Hero raises to t600, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB raises to t815 (All-In), Hero calls t215.

Steal #2 - I don't wanna pay for it

BB is t300

MP (t1450)
Button (t1835)
SB (t1180)
BB (t2720)
Hero (t2815)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
Hero raises to t750, MP folds, Button folds, SB raises to t1180 (All-In), BB folds, Hero calls t430.

Should I have folded for that much more?

Steal #3 - if I get by, it's mine

BB is t300

SB (t1150)
BB (t1835)
UTG (t3260)
MP (t2570)
Hero (t1185)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG folds, MP folds, Hero raises to t1185 (All-In), SB folds, BB calls t885.

Its hard to gove accurate replies when I do not know the blinds for each hand but it looks like
1. Classic mistake, do not steal from a BB who is on this short of a stack since of have to call if he pushes and dont want to, also when you are the big stack, leave the smallest stack alone since you have the advantage on the bubble over medium stacks and shouldnt be looking to elimanate the small ones.
2. Looks like you PF raise was too big here, what were the blinds?
3.easy push imo.

I edited it to include the blinds.

Excellent point about not pressuring the BB without a good hand when he's short like that near the bubble. I'll keep that one in mind.

Any comments on #2 with that info?

Steal #2 you are UNDER 10BB, you should not be stealing here, save your chips for the real hands.

In hand #2 you should be folding this UTG because you are not in good steal position and because everyone is under 10BBs. When you are in a situation like this near the bubble you should rarely steal, except in the odd case where you have way more chips then a group of equally stacked opponents where I like to fire at will .

The third one is super standard. The first one is a bit too aggressive but not awful.

The second is the real problem. Your stack is not large enough anymore to be attempting to run over the table. You can't possibly lay down to a reraise from anyone except BB (and even then it's pretty marginal). With this stack size you should be consolidating and bullying the shorter stacks at opportune moments. UTG with a weak ace when the largest stack has the blind is not an opportune moment. I would fold a hand as strong as KT or A9 in this situation.

#3 - easy push

#2 - i think your stack's not big enough & your position's not good enough to go for a steal here.

#1 - your position's good enough & your stack's big enough, but the BB's stack is too small.

The first hand I would only steal from the button or from the cutoff if I had a read on the three to act after me.

Second hand you only need to be raising to 500 so you are not committed if you get pushed on. And this isnt a EP steal hand.

Third hand is a must push. You have 4BB left and the blinds are approaching. You almost root for a call here.

He can't raise to 500 on the second hand. 600 is the minimum raise.

Anyway, the problem with making undersize raises is that it is obvious to any thinking player that the reason you are doing it is so you won't be committed, so you get reraised. Also the blind will often call and you can get into trouble on the flop.
