Default Opinions wanted: Here are my proofs.

Hey gang -

Here are the proofs for my chips from pokerchips.com:

This is the first draft:
Ash's chips Draft #1

This is the second draft:
Ash's chips Draft #2

The main question I have is this - which of the Royal Flush pictures do you like better? The first one is the one that they supplied, the second one I supplied. I think the first one will come out better. Also, the graphics artist suggested that they could change the color of the clubs to blue - but I don't think I like that idea.

Here are the color combinations that I'll be getting:
Blue Arc Yellow
White DG Orange
Red White
Green DG Yellow
Black Mandarin Red
Purple DG Pink

Thoughts?

-Ash

Very nice chips. I like everything about version 2 better, except for the 10 in the royal. The pattern of the pips is off and I think it would bug me every time I saw them.

I am not buying these chips, so with a grain of salt. liquor up front poker in the rear is a bit cliche. However as cliche as it might be I like the the sides being different, obvious but still a real nice look.

Also i think a Jason Gosain enterprise kinda makes them look like corporate promotional items. Okay if that's what you are going for.

Again, Grain of salt my friend.

I agree with the "enterprise" etc. That's why I got rid of it...

FWIW: Gosain is my last name - and CasinoGosain is the gambling nickname my buddies gave me back in college. It was me, Blackjack Mahoney, etc. Also, my wife and I joked about naming our kid Casino - and referred to him as such up until he was born.

I like the casinogosain, especially after the reasoning, but the liquor & poker is just to used for me, IMO I would like something more personal. The look is very nice though

I agree that it is cliched (sp?), but I (and this is totally a personal thing) feel that it is cliched enough to become a classic again...

Also, glad to see you got the animated GIF working.

Like the others, I am not fond of the cliche, but they are your chips and if you like it, then it's all good.

Other then that I think they look good. I like the 2nd proof better then the first.

I like the 2nd draft better... didn't care for the "enterprise" part. One chip has 2004 & the other 2005?? I like the red contrast & the olives on the 2nd draft. Can they make the clubs on the first draft smaller or not so splotchy? If not then I'd go with yours in No. 2 if you can center it a little better.

My extra 2¢...
I'll agree the "liquor up front..." is over used but I like the way you have it on opposite sides. I think the nickname personalizes it enough for me especially with the unborn name choosing fun... we changed funny names once a month... though I still like Ruckus for a boy ... ended up having a girl & surprised us both!

Good design - post pics next year!
It looks like it'll be worth the wait.

Good luck,
Fins

The 2004 is a holdover from the original design - when I thought I could order/proof/receive these chips this year ... silly Ash.

I may have them change the graphic to a spade flush - the pips on the second version bug me as well. The graphic I gave them for the first version is "blurry".

Oh - the most unfortunate name I've actually seen: When I was a medical student, we had the daughter of a ghetto-fabulous crack whore as a patient. The child was named La4cia. With the number 4. This child has no choice but to become a hooker.

One of my best friends has a list of outrageous baby names. She's a mother-baby nurse in Dallas' largest hospital.

The one that sticks out most for me is, (I'll give you the pronunciation first), "Absidy" with the stress on Ab.

Now here's the spelling of that name:
.
.
.
.
.
.

.
Spelled "ABCDE"

Not kidding.
