Default Dumb at math

Can someone tell me the formula to figure out the following question?
I have figured out that the odds for the following hands are:

AA vs 78 = 80/20
AK vs AJ = 75/25
AQ vs KJ = 65/35

My question is how do I figure out what are the chances of losing all these hands going in pre-flop with the best hand?

Is it (80*75*65= 390,000) and (20*25*35=17,500) = 22/1?

Thanks

I think it's easier as fractions. 80/20 is 80% to win, right? If p1, p2 are probabilities of events 1 and 2, the probability of event 1 and 2 both happening is p1*p2.

So if you're 80% to win, you're 20% to lose. If you're 20% to lose and (say) 30% to lose, you're .3*.2=.06=6% to lose both.

You can take it from there.

PS Even though it seems to be most of what this forum gets used for, doing math so that you can complain about how bad your luck is, is probably not the best use of your time.

The probability of two independent events both occuring together is equivelant to the probability of the first event multiplied by the probability of the second event. Losing all 3 hands together is 0.2*0.25*0.35 = 0.0175 or around 56 to 1.

You have the right idea, except that it should be (assuming the odds you posted are correct) 20*25*35 and (80+20)*(25+75)*(35+65) = 17500 / 1000000 = .0175 = 1.75%

Basically, if you know the odds of an event happening (ie 20% chance of losing the first hand) and you know the odds of the second thing happening (ie 25% chance of losing) you multiply the two together to find the odds of both happening. Just remember that 20% is the same as 20/100, which is the same as 20/80+20, or the number of times the event happens out of the total number of attempts, ie 20 times you lose out of the 80 times you win + the 20 times you lose = 20/80+20 = 20/100 = 20%.
