Default Winrate

I'm getting a clearer understand of what the win rate is. Here are my questions:
What is considered a good winrate?
When it is expressed as x for 100/BB what does the BB represent? I know it means Big Bet, but what does it mean in $$ terms?

It's actually BB/100. It means how many BBs (big bets) you are winning for every 100 hands played.

Depends on level. Depends on what you mean by good.

Good at any level is above 2 BB/100.

Good at .5/1 I think should be like 3 BB/100.

I've seen long term rates as high as 7 BB/100.

Ok. B ut what constitutes a Big Bet? I play .50/1.00. Is a Big Bet $1.00, $5.00, $10.00?

Right, so if you play .50/1.00 a BB is 1.00

So when Poker Tracker says my BB/100 hands is 3.05 that means I'm winning $3.05 for every 100 hands dealt? So if I'm seeing 100 hands per hr. I'm winning $3.05 per hr. That seems terrible. What is a good BB/100 hands?

Right, so if you play .50/1.00 a BB is 1.00

$3.05/hr at .5/1 is > 2BB/Hr so consider yourself above average for long term. If this is your average after 1000s of hands, then you might want to go to $1/$2 games or whatever is the next rate. If you can keep a similar bb/100 rate then your actual $ amount will increase, but your competion will be better.

Basically if you want a higher rate you have to play higer blinds.

I personally think people should be at least 2.5 BB/100 for .5/1 and below. I think 3 BB/100 is a better sign.
