Default Early-In-The-Session Blues

Does anyone else often experience downward swings right at the beginning of their sessions? Even winning sessions seem to start slowly a lot of the time. I guess it's part of the TA style... pots that are large but infrequent (and sometimes absent). Are there other reasons?

I've been known to throw in a loose call or play a bit tentative in my first couple hands -- especially after a bad session. Doesn't happen all the time, but every so often it takes me a few to get into the swing of things. However, I think it's probably just the infrequency of pots like you said. I used to wonder why I was always starting off so fast and then sliding into negative territory. Then I started to wonder why I always found myself losing my first few hands. Perception is a wonderful thing, isn't it?
