Book Review: Sharp Sports Betting
Sharpe Sports Betting (9) by Stanford Wong. When reviewing a gambling book one of the questions that I ask is “Will this book make you money without possibly leading you astray?” Very few gambling books will meet this criteria, but this text does. It is not a text on handicapping even though there are a few hints in this area. Wong assumes that information or ability is already present even though though the text does contain some hints in this area. But what the book really does do is to help you identify good bets assuming your handicapping is done. Let me give an example. Suppose you know that the correct over/under for a particular baseball team is to win 80 games in a season. You then walk into a sports book and see that team at 78 games. Is this a good bet? Will this number allow you to theoretically overcome the casino’s juice? Sharpe Spots Betting will answer this. It will also help you with many prop bets, and handling the NCAA basketball tournament. All in all, if you are interested in betting sports, especially if you are relatively new in this area, this text is a must read.
