Default A5os, Preflop Play

Pacific Poker $.5/$1, loose passive table as usual, some even limp with AK, AQ.

I'm in BB and dealt A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Preflop - UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, EP calls, MP1 folds, MP2 raises, MP3 calls, CO Calls, Button Calls, SB folds, Hero...???????

Let me know what you think pls. Thx a lot!

Garbage hand, esp against a raise. It's not an easy fold, it's a super mega easy fold.

Agreed. Pretty easy fold. If players are limping with AK, AQ what do you think their raising with?
Probably only big pairs.

Easy fold unless you are sure the flop is going to come 2 3 4 or A A A or 5 5 5.

Right right I thought my call was terrible

But my thought process was that I was getting 11:1 from the call (assuming the EP limper would call and not reraise, which he did) - but albeit even flopping two pair is something like 24:1...

Thanks for setting me straight!

If you're dominated, which are you likely going to be, pot odds can't save you.

Weak aces suck. They are awful. They have awful Pot Equity, awful Implied Odds, they're tacky and I hate them.

The fact is, what flop do you want to see with A5o? What is going to allow you to bet your hand aggressively and make money? I'll give you a hint. It involves either both an A and a 5, 2 Aces, 2 5's, or a 234. Other than these cards, you're pretty screwed. Why put yourself in this situation if you can avoid it?
