Default Omaha8 Books

Hi,
I've been looking around for a good Omaha8 book for some time now, with not much luck. Almost every book I've seen has reviewers calling it "too basic" or "pointless" or "a waste of money."

On onlinechamp's page (please don't crucify me, it showed up in google) Tom McEvoy recommends Capelliti for Omaha.

Try as I might, I cannot locate this person or his book, nor has their been any reference to it on this server, except someone quoting the post from onlinechamp's page.

Does this book exist, and if so, where can one purchase it?

What book would you guys recommend for Omaha8?

(I'm low limit, highest played is 5/10, but pretty good, not a complete beginner)

Thanks for the advice,

citanul

Hi Citanul,

Ray Zee's book is the one you want to get. You can order it from this website (2+2). His 22 concepts for basic O/8 will do wonders for your game for starters.

L. Krieger & M. Tenner have a new O/8 book coming out soon, btw. It's getting a thumbs up from Mark Gregorich (One of the world's top O/8 players), if my sources are correct. Should be worth checking out that one.

Get the Ray Zee book ASAP. Forget about Cappelletti, you need Zee if you want to win!

Best of Luck

Howard

The Ray Zee book is worth its weight in gold. Now if I could only find more O8 games.

i definitely push zee's book, although i haven't read cappelletti's yet. try looking for it at the store at cardplayer.com, he's a columnist there. unfortunately, most of the coverage beyond the basic concepts will not help you all that much at 3/6 and below, although it will be quite helpful if you move up.

the reason there's so little literature on omaha/8, especially low limit, is that it's really not at all a difficult game to play well, and following a few simple concepts (like zee's) will get you where you need to go. it's a good approach for profitability, but i almost don't consider low-limit omaha/8 to be 'poker' any more, because there's so little play to it.
