Default 50+5 low blinds head-up: How to play post-flop if you don\'t catch any?

At 30+3, with total chip count = 8k, you're usually heads-up at 150/300 blinds or later. it's push or fold from this point on.

but at 50+5, the total chips = 10k and push/fold usually shouldn't take place till 250/500. assuming both you and your opponent both have 5k chips and blinds= 150/300, you're risking too many chips to win 300 by pushing.

i find that i am lost when i bet 2.5BB w/AJo and he calls and i don't catch any part of the flop.

i will fire a shot on a 2tone flop w/a .75pot bet. but almost everytime, i get called. then if the turn doesn't help, i check. and he will almost always bet and i fold.

I am pretty sure this isn't the correct way to play.

How to play post-flop at 50+5 when you're heads-up, have 5k chips, and blinds are only 150/300?

THX!

At the 300 blind level there are 450 chips in the pot. If you push and win, you have won 450 chips (not the 300 you indicate). I'm not sure if this changes this too much, but the pot is just under 10% of your stack. I'd push if you think your oppoenet would call with a worse hand. I play at the $15 PS Turbos and know a lot of players will call a pre-flop push in this situation with any Ace, K-paint, etc.
