What do they do differently than me?
I can hit some backspin on my apprach shots where the ball will hit and stick or hit and only go a bit forward but I can't come close to making the ball draw back like the pros do. I find it incredible how they do that, how can I change my swing/technique to try to get more backspin with my short apprach shots (100 yards and in) Thanks. |

Don't forget about the equipment the pros are using either- the sticks and balls they use are designed with this type of control in mind.

by "pinching" it. Hitting down on the ball more is what does it I think.

Thats a good point, you need to be using high spin balls as well. Top Flite Rocks arent going to spin much, but a Titleist Professional is going to spin lots

faster swing speed, and hit down on the ball.
spinning the ball backwards is actually a giant pain in the ass most of the time. |

What is true though is most pros are using soft balls that are going to spin, even though the pros can spin any ball, but most regular players are using hard distance balls.
