Default my first shot at NL50...AA and i\'m UTG

table has been semi-aggressive, so i thought i'd go for the limp re-raise. whoohoo, it worked...uh, so now what? i've gotta put the guy on a decent pair..maybe AK. villian is 49%/4/82. he's made some wierd plays in the few orbits i've been here. i've probably only played three hands, and raised two of them. i'm pretty card dead.

was the limp re-raise a good idea, or not? and if i'm going to try it, did i reraise a proper amount, or should it have been more/less?

my flop bet?

Unless he has pocket 5s of a 2 your still ahead, i dont think he would call a huge preflop raise with either. I would play back at him, and hope hes playing with 10/10 to k/k

I suspect this is a way ahead/way behind situation so I would call down without improvement.

I would push instantly. If there was no flushdraw then I would call, check the turn, and raise all-in whatever bet he makes.

This is the most clear cut push you will ever face. Period.

Could you explain why you suspect this? I'm curious if I'm missing something.

You got exactly the result a limp-reraise is looking for. I'd push. But I want to hear what Tbach24 has to say here as well.

Well given the double call I am going to give him credit for a PP. Therefore he's either got 2 outs or you've got 2 outs. If he's willing to go to the felt with a small overpair right now, then go for it. However, if he's halfway intelligent and won't be going to the felt with 88 here, then call and call the turn and river. Maybe throw a raise in on the river because he'll probably pay off with a bunch of hands. At least that's how I'm looking at it, it could be off.

back to the limp reraise...what's the proper size for this bet?

tbach...i agree that i'm either way ahead or waaaaay behind. i don't expect him to show me a 2, and a set of 5's is possible, but unlikely. my best guess was TT-KK.
