I think you ought to be very careful here. If you put someone on your buddy list because they were playing like a maniac, then you notice they regularly play a higher limit, then they may well have been "slumming" or blowing off some steam at your limit, and play a much better game at levels that are meaningful to them...

point well taken. in fact, i had this experience (sort of). played with a guy a couple weeks ago that was raising every hand to $2 pf (NL $25). he just kept blowing through buyins (about 10 over two hours). kept saying he was just having fun, being drunk, whatever. he goes on my buddy list. 80 vpip / 40 pfr, etc. so i look him up the next day, and every subsequent day, and he's a freaking rock! amazing. he must have been really drunk and wanted to have some fun.
